More BBQ for Your Buck – Best Value on Grills for Summer 2025

April 6, 2025

Get the most out of summer by getting the perfect grill.

You like cooking meat with actual fire, and using heavy-duty metal tools to do so. You like when the fat drips into the grill and creates a flame that seems a little intense for others—but not you, you smirk in the face of flames. You like looking like you like it. You like the way condensation accumulates on the beer bottle next to the grill, and you like that you have to drink the beer quickly before it warms up. You like standing in front of the grill that way no one can stand in front of you and talk.

Then—just like that—you have racks of ribs, unbelievably well-cooked steaks, buttery and overly seasoned corn or potatoes in foil, burgers with perfectly gooey cheese, peppers and onions that embarass their sauteed brethren.

Ok, you get it, grilling is amazing. It’s fun, and it’s actually a very cost effective way to cook as well. With that said, this all depends very heavily on one thing:

The Grill.

So if you need a new one, now is the time, and it will absolutely make your summer.

Beef on a grill with high, bright flames.

MASTER COOK 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill ($200)

Price: $200 • Burners: 3 • 30,000 BTU

This mighty but simple grill is the best option for those of you who want a full-featured, traditional gas grill without spending $400, $500, or of course much more.

3 burners is enough, but 4 is what you really want if you often grill for lots of family, parties, etc. It has the two shelves, wheels, and the floating rack for veggies and buns. Overall, great value for a gas grill for your backyard, but this is about as basic as it gets.

Weber SPIRIT 3 or 4 Burner Grills ($500-$600)

This sleek, no nonsense grill is one of highest-quality options you will find. Weber is a timeless and unquestionably legit brand, and the SPIRIT line of grills they make are their signature offering at this price point. If you aren’t paying $1000 or more for your grill, you should probably just buy this one.

The Weber SPIRIT can be purchased with 3 or 4 burners, and you pay about $100 more for that 4th burner, $500 compared to $600. Of course this is situtional, but if you are going to spend $500 on a grill, it seems pretty logical to just pay up for the 4-burner version unless you really need to save that money. The 3-burner option is about 3 inches less wide, so there isn’t much difference in how much space you need for it.

  • Weber Works side rails fit snap-on accessories (sold separately) such as a Bottle Holder, extra Tool Hooks, and Flexible Lighting to give you more room at the grill.

Cuisinart Propel+ 4-Burner Grill with Griddle and Pizza Oven ($500)

Price: $500 • Burners: 4 • 44,000 BTU • Pizza Stone/Oven + Griddle

You know you want it all, and this fantastic grill has exactly that. As soon as I saw this I wondered why there aren’t grills with built in pizza ovens everywhere? Yes there are alternatives, and many more expensive grills with such features, but there is no way around the fact that this is one of the better deals on grills in 2025.

If you don’t think you will use the pizza oven or griddle much, then maybe you are better off going with the Weber SPIRIT option above, but otherwise why not spend the same amount and get so much more for this Cuisinart Propel+?

Masterbuilt Gravity Series 800 Digital Charcol Grill

Price: $800 • App Control • Charcoal • Griddle and Smoker

Big boy stuff, the real deal for a hefty price.

God damn this thing is beefy. It heats to insane temperatures quickly, has digital temperature display, and can be controlled via app. Massive cooking space. Looks a piece of machinery from an oil rig. This thing is awesome. The Series 800 has a cooking space of 800 square inches (imagine that). There are smaller and bigger ones, a Series 600 and a Series 1050. Both of them have a slightly different but equally brolic look to them, and of course vary a bit in cost. If space is limited this is an important consideration, but otherwise you can’t go wrong here.
